13 May JUNE 15, 2025 – COMING HOME
Sun 15.06.25 – 19h – CC De Schakel, Waregem (tickets)
East, west—home is best? On Sunday, June 15, composer Mathias Coppens, guitarist Sam Desmet, and pianist Steven Vanhauwaert—three internationally acclaimed musicians—proudly return to their hometown of Waregem for a festive Coming Home concert celebrating 25 years of Waregem as a city. Although they now live and work in the United States, they eagerly seize this unique opportunity to perform solo works of their own choosing.
Sam Desmet presents the world premiere of Jean Absil’s newly arranged guitar concerto. Steven Vanhauwaert performs Mozart’s lyrical and virtuosic 23rd Piano Concerto. Composer and pianist Mathias Coppens introduces his brand-new work One Truth in the Way of Ecstasy.
