Het thema voor 2021 richtte zich op een uitvinding die de wereld veranderde: de trein.<\/p>\n<p>EUROPALIA TRAINS &amp; TRACKS presenteerde een programma met ruimte voor beeldende kunst, podiumkunsten, film, muziek, literatuur en debat. De trein werd onderzocht vanuit vier perspectieven: impact op de samenleving, duurzaamheid, tijd en beweging.<br \/>\nDit was voor Muziektheater Transparant en Casco Phil aanleiding om het station te gebruiken als kruispunt voor de creatie van een opera.<br \/>\nHoe wordt een opera gecomponeerd, hoe wordt een tekst door de librettist gedestilleerd uit berichten van toevallige voorbijgangers, uit een sms of zelfs uit een brief. Beleef de repetitie. De spits was nog nooit zo inspirerend! Voorbijgangers werden toeschouwers, reizigers werden deelnemers.<\/p>\n<p>EUROPALIA richtte zich op de treinen: de sporen verbonden letterlijk het continent. Samen met Muziektheater Transparant ontwikkelde Casco Phil een verbindende opera-ervaring. Een componist en een librettist brachten een week door in een glazen doos in de stations van Antwerpen, Brussel Centraal, Londen St Pancras en Rotterdam.<br \/>\nElke dag componeerden ze een korte, actuele opera, mede bepaald door voorbijgangers en hun verhalen en uitgevoerd tijdens de spitsuren. De uiteindelijke compositie was een performance en een geluidsinstallatie met live muzikanten en zangers die een week lang vrij bezocht kon worden door iedereen die even wilde stoppen, expres of per ongeluk.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Lost &amp; Found<\/span><br \/>\nEen idee van Casco Phil.
