Toen Beethoven zijn vioolconcerto losliet op een select publiek van vrienden, had hij nog bijna niets gecomponeerd voor dat instrument. Dat verklaart de behoorlijk grote rol van het orkest, dat hier uitgebreid in dialoog gaat met de solist. Zo oversteeg Beethoven de traditionele tweedeling tussen solist en orkest en cre\u00eberde hij een voortreffelijk gepolijst symfonisch meesterwerk. Ook zijn\u00a0Vijfde symfonie<\/i>\u00a0is een mijlpaal uit het symfonische repertoire. Het hele werk is doorspekt met het overbekende openingsmotief dat bestaat uit slechts vier noten: kort-kort-kort-lang. In een voortdurende strijd met dit zogenaamde Noodlotmotief ontplooit Beethovens\u00a0Vijfde<\/i>\u00a0zich als een glorieuze muzikale kroniek, waarin tragedie omslaat in triomf, en tumult in gejubel. We spelen\u00a0Beethoven V<\/i>\u00a0op 20 november en\u00a0Beethoven VI<\/i>\u00a0op 22 november.<\/p>\n
