Unfinished masterpieces fascinate because they carry out the promise of a work of art that genuinely existed in the mind of the artist.
Schubert left his famous symphony unfinished because he was working on other pieces. Claude Vivier was murdered before completing his opera project. Luciano Berio arranged Bachs unfinished Fugue Contrapunctus XIX.
